TANG SOO DO TEACHINGS

Originally called Soo Bahk Do, the martial arts discipline Tang Soo Do originated in Korea and has a long history and tradition dating back 2,000 years. Basic Tang Soo Do tenets include the following principles:

1. Loyalty to country

2. Obedience to parents and elders

3. Honor friendship

4. No retreat in battle

5. In fighting, choose with sense and honor

INSTRUCTOR'S MISSION

Our mission is to provide young children with the positive influence of the martial arts. This specially created program is a total learning activity that stresses education of values and character.

We pledge to help young people learn patience, concentration, humility, self-discipline, self-control, and respect. We intend to enhance the successful lives of children through both personal development and achievement.

Take Time to Get to Know Us

Welcome to Valentin Karate! For over 20 years, we have offered karate instruction in Meriden and Plantsville, CT. We work with individuals to instill valuable skills that will serve them well throughout the course of their lives. At our 3 locations in Meriden and Plantsville, we ensure that every student continues to grow and learn versus sitting on the bench during classes. At our school nobody sits on the bench.

Karate is Not Just for Kids

Whether you’re young or “young at heart” it’s never too late to begin mastering martial arts. Classes begin at the age of three at Valentin with programs extending to teen and adult students. As our student’s skills grow we offer advanced and leadership level instruction to ensure every individual progresses at his or her own pace.

We Offer More Than Just Classes

Valentin Karate focuses on contributing fully to the community. In addition to our classes for all ages, Valentin Karate has birthday party services to celebrate in style while having fun and getting active. Learn From the Best

Our staff at Valentin karate currently includes five talented and qualified instructors in the ancient Tang Soo Do tradition. The Grandmaster of Tang Soo Do, Jae Chul Shin, certifies our masters and instructors and our establishment is certified in the World Tang Soo Do Association.
