Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire students of all ages to reach their fullest potential by strengthening the mind, body, and character through the practice of martial arts. We are dedicated to teaching skills that extend far beyond the mat—such as confidence, respect, focus, and perseverance—empowering our students to succeed in school, at home, at work, and in their everyday lives.

Our core values

How we operate at Valentin Karate

We are family friendly, veteran owned company that has been a part of your community for 35+ years

Perseverance

Karate teaches perseverance by encouraging students to push through challenges, stay committed to their goals, and grow stronger with every step of progress. Through consistent training, goal-setting, and overcoming obstacles, students learn that success is earned through effort, patience, and the determination to keep going—even when things get difficult.

Self Discipline

Discipline is key to mastering martial arts and achieving personal goals on and off the mat. Through structured routines, consistent expectations, and goal-based progress, children learn to control their impulses, make responsible choices, and stay committed to their training— Even our Adults learn skills that carry over into school, home, and everyday life.

Confidence

In our classes, we see confidence grow each time a student masters a technique, earns a new belt, tries something difficult, or steps outside their comfort zone with the support of their instructors and classmates. Even our youngest students gain the confidence to lead exercises in front of their peers. A skill that goes far beyond the mat.

Respect and Courtesy

From bowing to instructors and partners, to listening attentively, to treating classmates with kindness, students learn that respect is the foundation of both personal growth and positive relationships. Through repeated practice and real-life examples, they develop courteous behavior that extends beyond the mat and into their homes, schools, and everyday interactions.

Growth

We are committed to the continuous improvement of our students and ourselves. Through martial arts, we encourage lifelong learning and personal development, helping individuals grow physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Discipline

Discipline is key to mastering martial arts and achieving personal goals. Through consistent practice and self-control, our students learn the importance of dedication and perseverance in all aspects of life.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Valentin Karate business and programs.

What makes Valentin Karate different from your competitors?

We take pride in developing well-rounded martial artists both on and off the mat. Family and fun are the foundation of our teaching, and our nationally recognized program is supported by a close-knit, encouraging community. At our school, students aren’t just members—they’re part of our martial arts family.

Do you offer a trial period so we can try out your program?

Yes! We do offer a 30 day trial that is $30 and includes a free uniform. You can attend unlimited classes during this time at any of our locations. You will get a little bit of everything we do during your 30 days.

What ages do you accept in your classes?

We accept all ages 4 and above! Whether you are 4 or 104, you will get something out of our classes!

When can we start?

Anytime! Our curriculum is designed to be flexible and easy to join. New students may begin at any time, and our rotating lesson structure ensures that within their first month of training, they will be introduced to all key parts of our program. This allows students to jump in confidently without feeling behind, while still receiving a well-rounded martial arts education.

What if my child has special needs?

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and feel included. Our team is committed to creating a supportive and encouraging environment, and we are happy to accommodate students with a variety of needs whenever possible. We encourage you to reach out to us so we can learn more about your child and discuss how we can best support their success and enjoyment in our program.

Do I have to commit to certain classes or can I come whenever?

Safety is our top priority. Our facilities are cleaned daily by a professional cleaning company. Our lead instructors are certified in CPR and first aid yearly and our facilities are equipped with first aid kits as well as AEDs.

What does a typical class look like?

We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming and supportive classroom where students can grow with confidence. Each child learns at a pace that works best for them while gaining experience in self-defense, anti-bullying awareness, forms, karate techniques, and safe, no-contact sparring - all taught in an age-appropriate and positive way.

Will you honor the belt my child currently has?

We understand how important your child’s hard work and achievements are. When transferring to our program, students may continue wearing their current belt. After getting to know them during their first few weeks, we will assign a belt level in our system that best reflects their experience and abilities.

Are there any hidden fees or contracts?

Nope! We are very transparent about our pricing and our policies! We also don't do long term contracts!
